Amid growing tension between India and China for almost 2 months, Indian Army took an unprecedented step on Wednesday, when it asked its personnel to delete their accounts from 89 apps by July 15 or face a stern action. It ranges from social media accounts to e-commerce and dating sites, platforms banned for usage by the personnel include a range of apps.

Famous applications like Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, songs.pk, WeChat, Hike, TikTok, Shareit, Likee, True Caller, PUBG and Tinder, where most of these Applications are from Chinese origin. This is an extremely important move and it came amid a two-front potential Cyberwar with China and Pakistan. Indian Army is taking it into account as there is an huge increase in the number of cases being targeted by their intelligence and Spy agencies. This step is nothing less than a ‘Digital Strike’ against the China for sure.

With India’s raging tensions with Pakistan and China, New Delhi is being watchful on all fronts possible. The “all-weather” friends have been trying to trouble India at the LOC, LAC and internally as well, they are trying to woo the neighbors of India and to make them against the state of India. No doubt, New Delhi has been giving befitting replies to both the troublemakers time and again, and all credit goes to our Government which has decided to call the bluff of ‘Two Front War’ as propagated by both China and Pakistan.

Indian Army released a statement, where it said that “In view of the exponential increase in the number of cases being targeted by hostile intelligence agencies and existing vulnerabilities, the use of Facebook accounts by Army persons is banned. Hence, the existing accounts are required to be deleted and not left deactivated. Any service persons found on Facebook/using banned sites post-July 15 will be reported and Army will be taking a stern action against them.

This is indeed an extremely strong step and it will hurt China’s economic interests and may cause more pain to our nasty neighbor.
