A terrible example of sexual assault and crimes against minorities from Pakistan came to light on Monday (October 22). After being gang-raped by Shafaq Bhargari and his pals, a Hindu woman named Miran Kolhi was compelled to make a false statement by a female police officer.

According to a report by South Asian Digest, the woman was threatened by a woman police officer in Pakistan identified as Momal Laghari, and was asked to give a false statement in favour of the accused.

“The accused man and woman SHO Momal Laghari intimidated me and coerced me into making a fake statement. The victim woman was heard saying in the video, “They both took me to a room near the court and threatened that I should declare that I am marrying Shafaq Bhargari, or else they would send me to jail and kill me.”

According to reports, the incident took place in September of this year. It wasn’t until Shiva Kachhi, a Pakistani activist for minority rights, wrote about the incident that it came to light, revealing that the girl had been violently raped and kidnapped by Shafaq Bhargari, the son of Ghulam Haider Bhargari. Kachhi remarked that the girl had found a way to get away from the scene and get home.

The Pakistani Muslims commit heinous crimes against the Hindus, particularly the ladies. According to a recent research, around 14,000 cases of kidnapping, gang rape, and religious conversion of Hindu girls have surfaced in Pakistan during the past twelve years.

According to a recent Human Rights Observer 2023 fact sheet, 124 women from minority communities in Pakistan were forcibly converted to Islam in the year 2022. 42 of them were Christians, 81 were Hindus, and one was Sikh.
