The Grand old party of India Indian National Congress is on decline and the writing is on the wall with parties in the opposition trying to fill in the gap’s.
In the recently concluded Municpal Elections for Gujarat in 2021 the BJP continued its winning streak winning six municipal corporations.
And the most shocking results emerged with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) replaced Congress to emerge as challenger to BJP with 25 seats while the Grand Old party was reduced to dust without opening its account. The performance of Aam Aadmi Party in Surat is reminiscing of performance of AAP in Delhi Assembly Elections where Congress has become non entity after two successive defeats.
And to add insult to injury, Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) werested the Rajya Sabha seat of late Congress leader Ahmed Patel. The Congress seems to be perrenial decline and yesterday the Congress Government in Puducherry lost the trust vote. Similarly the party could not save its government in Madhya Pradesh last year when 22 MLA’s resigned from the party.
And recent reports emerged that Sonia led Congress is facing financial crisis and the organization has sent out SOS to its loyalist to come to its rescue. The dwindling signs of donations show the organization lacks political strength and resilience. The party leadership is listless and unresponsive. And Inner party democracy in the party is non existent. The suspension of Sanjay Jha for advocating inner party democracy and the exit of high profile youth leader Jyotiraditya Scindia shows the grand old party accelrated decline from the political landscape of India.
And with the assembly elections in West Bengal, Tamilnadu, Kerala, Assam, Puducherry round the corner, the party is eager to put up improved performance. And the inexperience leadership of the party lacks the connect with the voter base and lacks clear road map to take mighty electoral machinery of BJP.
