Maulvi called at the mazar and got her to accept Islam and also raped her daughter.

A case of mass conversion of a Hindu family has come to light in Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh. The allegation has been leveled against the Maulvi and other members of his family living in a mazar. The victim alleges that the accused not only raped her daughter but also performed obscene acts on her.

The victim, in a harrowing testimony, detailed her daughter’s traumatic experience of rape and heinous acts by the accused Maulvi and his associates. When the victim dared to protest against these barbaric acts, she was allegedly brutalized, her hair was pulled and even spit on. The painful situation was further complicated by threats of dire consequences if she did not comply with the accused’s demands and did not go to the mazar.

Thankfully, prompt action has been initiated by the authorities, with the police registering an FIR (First Information Report) in this appalling case on Tuesday, 5th December 2023. Furthermore, one of the accused has been apprehended, signaling a crucial step towards ensuring justice for the victims.

OpIndia spoke to the victim in this matter. The victim told that she was taught to steal at the tomb. Maulvi Mushtaq used to tell them that even if they steal money from somewhere, bring it back. According to him, there is a place in a corner of the tomb where even if a woman screams, no one can hear it. The victim also claims that she has seen mostly widowed women going to the mazar.

The victim has described the accused as a very big gang. He told that the accused first come to the shops or houses of Hindus talking about brotherhood and then tell them that all religions are the same and ask them to offer a sheet a few times. According to the victim, when someone visits their shrine for a short period of time, he is threatened with death and illness if he stops coming.
