Twitter has once again does something to lower down its credibility. It has been notoriously famous for its repetitive technical glitches which puts End User’s data and security in jeopardy.

The current issue is with a technical glitch with Twitter’s 2-Factor authentication process. Multiple users reported that their 2-factor authentication verification codes are not being delivered via SMS text. Twitter has initiated an action to resolve this issue asap and same has been confirmed by Twitter Support.

This is not the first time this has happened. Twitter has a unique distinction of being a social media platform where end user’s data and its security is fragile.

On 2nd October 2019, Twitter experienced an outage where Indian users were unable to view notifications and tweets, few users were able to access their tweets on their phone but unable to do the same on their computers.

On 15th July,2020, Twitter experienced the biggest ever hack when hackers got access to many high-profile accounts, including Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, US President campaigner Joe Biden, Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Ex-US President Barack Obama, and even Apple’s corporate account was hacked.

India’s cybersecurity nodal agency CERT-In has also issued a notice to Twitter, to provide full details of this massive hack targeting high-profile users. Agency feared that hackers might have got access to the prominent Indian celebrities’ accounts.

Twitter is also infamous for targeting Hindus and Nationalist Twitter accounts in India. Several renowned accounts like Anand Ranganathan, Major Surendra Poonia, Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, Shefali Vaidya, etc have experienced technical glitches previously, sometimes their reach is limited, sometimes their followers are reduced, sometimes Twitter put a shadowban on them.

Twitter is a renowned social platform, and if such activities and technical glitches continue, then its credibility and reputation will certainly go down, which is already nosedived since Twitter’s biased treatment on the basis of different ideologies.
