The Legal Rights Observatory (LRO) has exposed that churches across the Europe are funding a New Delhi based NGO to fuel unrest, riot and anarchy in India. In a series of tweets LRO has revealed an NGO called Human Rights Law Network (HRLN) led by activist Colin Gonsalves had received Rs 50 crore from churches across Europe for defending stone pelters, rioters, arsonist n criminal elements involved in anti CAA riots across the country including riot accused Safoora Zargar legally in courts.

The Human Rights Law Network is a division of the Socio-Legal Information Centre (SLIC). HRLN—which was founded by Supreme Court lawyer, Colin Gonsalves in 1989—defines itself as a collection of Indian lawyers and social activists, who provide legal support to the vulnerable and disadvantaged sections of society. Under the garb of providing legal support to underprivileged section of society, HRLN receives funds from European churches to provide legal help to anti establishment forces of India.

Since, HRLN website openly declares that its lawyers defended stone pelters, rioters, arsonist n criminal elements involved in anti CAA riots across the country including riot accused Safoora Zargar, does it leave any scope for doubt how anti CAA protest was orchestrated by anti India forces like Colin Gonsalves.

Vinay Joshi, National convener of LRO explains, “providing legal help to any accused be it murderer, rioter, or arsonist is not illegal act. However, using money received under FCRA from foreign countries to defend anti establishment forces are violation of FCRA.” Hence LRO has demanded legal action against Colin Gonsalves and HRLN  by invoking UAPA against them.

The churches denominations across Europe which are funding Colin Gonsalves are: 1 Bread for the World Germany (Protestant), 2. DKA Austria (Catholic), 3. MISEREOR (German Catholic), 4. Switzerland based INCLO (13 NGOs), 5. Belgium based European Commission.

Isn’t it irony Europe is burning from Islamist extremism, but churches from there want India to burn from the same fire with which Europe itself is burning? Recently, Islamist mob unleashed destruction and violence on the streets of Swedish city of Malmo and Norway capital city Oslo in the month of August. Even Germany couldn’t remain untouched from Islamist extremism with series of terror attacks being foiled in the past.

LRO has contacted the embassies of European countries, which have funded Colin Gonsalves to inform them how their money are used to create unrest in India.

To create sphere of influence within Judiciary to bend courts in own interest, HRLN has kept influential Retd judges as Trustees of FCRA beneficiary patron Socio Legal Information Centre- SLIC! Its Chairperson was Late SC judge Justice H Suresh n Member Justice Deepak Verma.

The nexus between the churches abroad and activists like Colin Gonsalves, who are armed and emboldened by FCRA need to be deeply investigated before they damage the country further.
