In a shocking turn of events, the chief seer of Jalespeta ‘Kanya Ashram’ Swami Jivan Muktananda Puri has received death threats from an anonymous caller over the phone. The elderly seer has reported the matter to Tumudibandha police and demanded immediate security cover.

For our readers, we would like to tell that Puri is the successor of spiritual leader late Swami Lakshmanananda Saraswati. He received a call over which a person threatened to blow up the Jalespeta Ashram within four days. “The man also threatened to eliminate me. The callers were speaking in Hindi.”

A person made a phone call to Swami ji and introduced himself as a Naxal. He threatened to kill him and also threatened to destroy the Sanskrit Kanyashrama of Shankaracharya.

Here it is important to note that in 2008, five members of this ashram were shot dead. Swami Ji is working for social welfare activities and is doing his best to educate children and nurture them as good human beings. However, some anti-social elements don’t want them to carry out such activities.

On August 23, 2008, a revered seer, Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati of Jalespata Kanyashram was shot dead. The assailants had then claimed to be Maoists. Swami Laxmanananda was an influential leader and his death triggered the infamous Kandhamal riots.
