The Popular Front of India (PFI) has been refused permission to organize a protest in the national capital on Saturday. Notably, the PFI planned to stage a demonstration titled “Save the Republic” at Ambedkar Bhawan in New Delhi’s Jhandewalan region.
This follows a letter from the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) to the Delhi Police urging that the PFI protest in the national capital be halted. Surendra Kumar Gupta, a VHP leader, said in a letter to the Delhi Pol.
Earlier on July 7, the BJP’s Telangana unit called for the banning of the Popular Front of India following the arrest of four of its leaders in Nizamabad. It was requested to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs dissolve the “radical organization,” citing recent arrests and subsequent admissions by the accused as evidence that PFI has been actively radicalizing Muslim youth for years.
“The PFI agenda confessed by the arrested suspects to the police is extremely unsettling and dangerous to the religious harmony and social integrity of this nation. These radicals admitting that they have been training hundreds of youth against Hindu community is a serious plot to destabilize the society,” BJP’s chief spokesperson K Krishnasagar Rao has said.
It is worth noting that the involvement of PFI in the recent violence around the country has been scrutinized by inquiry authorities, with numerous Union Ministers pushing for the organization to be banned.

The outlawed Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) has an open face in the Popular Front of India (PFI).
According to the authorities, the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) is the political branch of the PFI founded with the intention of registering with the Election Commission of India and fighting elections for the PFI. The Campus Front of India (CFI) is the PFI’s student arm. Apart from this, they stated, PFI controls a number of other entities that are involved in conversions, fund collections, and so on.
