We often hear a lot about the so-called Ganga-Jamuni tehjeeb, we have witnessed a fresh example of the same in Delhi on Saturday, when several Hindu houses at Harijan Basti, Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi were attacked by an Islamist mob after a Dalit man married a girl from the minority community. The incident occurred on Saturday.

It is reported that a rioting mob entered the Dalit Basti and attacked the locality with sticks, swords, and other weapons. It is said that communal tension is rising in that area following the incident of Saturday night.

The locals informed that Muslims were not happy with this inter-religious marriage and they were extremely angry when they get to know about the marriage of a Muslim girl with a boy from the Dalit community. Locals say that the Girl and the Boy secretly married but recently, the Girl’s family fixed her marriage with someone else in their religion.

Past learning about this development, the girl went to the local police station to report the complaint and register her statement on the matter. The family of the Hindu boy also left the area to live with relatives elsewhere to avoid any sort of issues. But once the local Muslims know about their movement, they attacked the house of Dalit locality.

There is heavy police deployment in the area, and Police has apparently made 5 arrests in the matter.
