Teesta Setalvad: A ‘Riot Seeking Elite Racketeer’ who orchestrated a smear campaign to trap Modi in the Gujarat Riots case

After the Gujarat Police’s Anti-Terrorism Squad detained Activist Teesta Setalvad on Saturday evening from Mumbai, the BJP trained guns on the Congress party accusing its president Sonia Gandhi behind Setalvad’s against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The BJP cited the Supreme Court’s critical comments against Teesta Setalvad to flay her and alleged that Congress and Sonia Gandhi were the “driving force” behind the activist’s campaign against the then chief minister Modi over the 2002 Gujarat riots.

The apex court had named Setalvad while blasting those responsible for keeping the “pot boiling” for their ulterior designs on the riots. The court had said that all those involved in the abuse of process need to be in the dock. Past that, Setalvad has been detained by the Gujarat ATS in connection with an FIR registered against her at the Ahmedabad city crime branch.

Supreme Court dismissed a petition challenging the clean chit given by the SIT to then Gujarat chief minister Modi and others in the 2002 post-Godhra riots cases. It was Setalvad’s NGO, that supported Zakia Jafri, who had filed the petition alleging a larger conspiracy behind the riots, throughout her legal battle. Jafri’s husband and former Congress MP Ehsan Jafri were killed during the riots.

Setalvad and her NGOs were behind producing some rather gruesome details, about what happened to some Muslim victims of riots. However, upon further investigation, all those claims and accusations turned out to be incorrect. She has also been accused of misuse and misappropriation of the money collected for riot victims and using them for personal pleasure and comfort.

Teesta collected around Rs 7 crore in name of the Gujarat riots and spent only Rs 2 crore. The case is going on against her in that case also n she is on anticipatory Bail. During 2004-14 she received enormous benefits from the Congress government.

Congress-led UPA government, especially its education ministry, had given Rs 1.4 crore to an NGO run by Setalvad, and this money was used to run a campaign against Modi and also to “defame” India. She was also given Padm-Shri by UPA government in 2007.

When ISI and LeT sent multiple terrorists to eliminate the then CM Modi, they were killed in an encounter. It was Teesta, who called it a fake encounter and tried to frame Modi in that case also. She also tried to frame Modi in the best bakery case, but utterly failed on every occasion.

RK Raghavan, EX CBI Director was appointed as head of SIT. He is known for his honest image and understood this sinister plan of Teesta Setalvad. She also tried to frame Raghwan in a fake fund misuse case. Raghwan was so scared of Teesta that he stopped going to restaurants so that he might be poisoned, he started to travel in economy class because they could frame him to misuse of govt money.

It was a well-laid-out trap to eliminate Modi, and Teesta was the primary henchman of the UPA government. This gang engaged several loyal and honest officers in this conspiracy. However, the people of Gujarat kept making him victorious.

We have no inhibition to saying that if Modi had lost any elections, he would have been finished then and there. This elite riot-monger gang was waiting to lose him so that he could be sent to jail. We must appreciate the people who kept on electing him and made him the Prime Minister of India.
