Instead of being ashamed of his son’s involvement in drugs peddling and consuming, Rhea Chakraborty’s father, Indrajit Chakraborty tried to embarrass entire India for his son, Showik Chakraborty, being arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on 4 September.
On 5 September Indrajit Chakraborty said, “Congratulations India, you have arrested my son, I’m sure next on the line is my daughter and I don’t know who is next thereafter. You have effectively demolished a middle class family. But of course, for the sake of justice everything is justified. Jai hind.”
While blaming entire India for his drug peddler son, Indrajit Chakraborty didn’t forget to play middle class cardto evoke sympathy for his family. Middle class Indians, who are known for maintaining high morals and dignity, run their families on tight budget waiting for next salary. And media played Retired Army Man Card to draw sympathy from naive people when it described, Actor Rhea Chakraborty’s father Lt Col (retired) Indrajit Chakraborty on Saturday broke his silence over his son Showik’s arrest and said that a middle-class family has been “demolished”.
So how does a middle class father react after his 24 years old son is arrested for consuming and peddling drugs? The embarrassed and disturbed father would introspect his poor upbringing and ask where he went wrong to inculcate ethics and values in his son. But, Indrajit Chakraborty is different. Instead of introspecting his poor upbringing, he is blaming India.
It has been widely reported in media that Showik Chakraborty has confessed to NCB that he used to buy drugs for late Sushant Singh on the behest of his sister Riya Chakraborty through Samuel Miranda, late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s house manager. Rhea Chakraborty’s credit card was also used for several transactions.
Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) conducted a raid at Rhea Chakraborty’s residence on morning of 4 September, a day after Mumbai court sent alleged drug peddler Zaid Vilatra to seven-day custody of the NCB. Zaid Vilatra confessed that he used to deal with Showik Chakraborty regarding the buying and selling of drugs.
Showik Chakraborty was arrested on charges of peddling drugs. How is his arrest related with middle class or any class of indian society? Moreover, which middle class family afford to hire one of the top criminal lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, who previously defended Sanjay Dutt, when he was charged for possessing illegal weapons and violating the Arms Act in 2007? Which middle class family pay lawyer Satish Maneshinde’s hefty amount of fee, which is reported ₹10 lac per day?
Does an Indian Army Officer have license to consume and supply drugs? Is being “Retired Army Man” a type of immunity card to use drugs? Times Now reported that Rhea Chakraborty’s father, Indrajit Chakraborty is himself a drug user. And he was fully aware of his children’s dangerous habits.
In the last line, Indrajit Chakraborty taunted for the sake of justice. Does Mr. Indrajit Chakraborty expect justice should be sacrificed so that his children with middle class status can continue to consume and peddle drugs at their wills?
Instead of taunting and ridiculing entire India, Rhea Chakraborty’s father, Indrajit Chakraborty should have thanked India for arresting his drug peddler son, Showik Chakraborty.
“Congratulations India, you have arrested my drug peddler and drug user son, I also expect you to interrogate my drug peddler and drug user daughter, as I miserably failed to play the role of a good father. You have effectively saved a middle class family and my children from further destruction of their lives. Of course, arrest of my degenerated children must be learning lesson for the rest of misguided youth who are drawn to the world of drugs. Jai Hind.
