Haryana Government’s big stride on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ – Every Girl to get passport with graduation degree

Haryana was once notoriously infamous for all the wrong reasons, as far as safety, human rights, education and sex ratio of Females.

However Haryana Government under the able leadership of Chief Minister ML Khattar has shows tremendous turn around in all the aspects.

Continuing the efforts further, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has announced that every girl student will be provided passports on the completion of their graduation degrees and the entire process would be completed in their respective colleges itself.

Haryana government has decided that all girl students should get a passport from their institutions along with their graduation degree”, announced the Haryana CM during a programme “Har Sar Helmet” organised on Saturday to provide learners’ driving licenses and free helmets to about 100 students in Karnal.

Haryana was earlier known for grossly increasing difference in male and female ratio, since then Haryana had surely come a long way. With the end of 2019, the sex ratio at birth in Haryana has increased 52 points since 2014.

In 2014 the sex ratio was recorded at 871 girls for every 1,000 boys in 2014. This number has risen to 923 girls for 1,000 boys in 2019, which is indeed a wonderful achievement for Khattar Government.

Khattar Government has implemented stern policies to keep a check on female foeticide, which was a common practice specially in rural haryana. Haryana was also awarded by Central Government for its coordinated efforts to increase the Female sex ratio.

Khattar Government has also setup the ‘Haryana Kanya Kosh’ to provide financial assistance on the birth of first girl child. The girl child belonging to the families of poor and Scheduled Castes will be provided financial assistance from this fund.

Khattar Government has also started a financial assistance of Rs.36,000 for female workers on the birth of up to two children, including nutritional supplement of Rs.6,000, the scheme has now been extended to cover up to three girls. This scheme has helped poor Women to cater their demands of nutrition during their pregnancy.

This scheme also covers the education of these girls. Now three female children of workers would be entitled to get financial assistance of Rs.3,000 to Rs.15,000 as education scholarship from Class-I onward. The education scholarship also be provided to up to two male children of workers. This scheme has ensured the increase number of Girl child enrollment for primary education.

‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ is a flagship scheme of Central Government, initiated by PM Modi and few states like Haryana and Uttar Pradesh are doing marvelous work in its implementation, and its not just a Big claim, the result is evident everywhere.
