Miffed and dejected with the back to back electoral losses and massive bashing at Social Media platforms, Congress has realized that it cant win the information warfare against BJP.
Hence, it has decided to have an army of ‘social media warriors’ or rather say ‘ Fake News Paddlers’ to challenge the Bhartiya Janata Party on digital platforms. The move is being seen as an attempt by the Congress party’s social media cell to take on the BJP’s humongous IT cell.
Congress may soon announce a helpline number and planning to recruit five lakh members as soon as possible. IT seems Congress has realized that fighting and winning information warfare is not its cup of tea, and on other hand, it has incompetent and pathetic communicators in its leadership, who are known for creating information mishaps every now and then, which sway away from the public opinion and creates the mood against the party.
Congress will soon launch a campaign to recruit more than 50,000 office bearers in each district, who will be assisting the vast network of 4.5 lakh paid volunteers in spreading propaganda against the Central government.
It is heard that Congress will create dedicated web pages on social media platforms to form a data bank of youth interested in joining its social media team, and after scrutinizing their profiles and conducting their interviews, these people will be hired. Then Congress headquarter will be conducting a training session for these folks, which will keep their focus on spreading the misinformation.
This seems a desperate attempt of Congress, as their misinformation campaign is not getting any traction in last 6 years. They have employed eminent intellectuals, people from beaurocracy, Sports and Media personalities, and even the International personalities, but nothing worked in their favour.
Well, the issue is not with their social media strategy, the issue is with their leadership and the mindset. Congress Leadership has an extremely negative mindset, which hinders their connect with the masses and ultimately hamper their prospects to counter the Public Connect Juggernaut, that is PM Modi.
