Uttar Pradesh is buzzing for a couple of months due to ongoing elections. As the voting has been finished, the exit polls have shown that BJP is all set to return with a massive mandate. It is certain that BJP may surpass the barrier of 300 seats once again.

There is no doubt that it was Chief minister Yogi Adityanath’s transformational leadership, that has put the BJP at the forefront. He has really done a wonderful job on various aspects such as Law & Order, Economics, Electrification, Healthcare, public welfare, religious matters to say the least.

But, at the same time, we must say that CM Yogi is fortunate to have Swatantra Dev Singh as his ‘Knight in the Shining Armor‘, who has worked as a problem solver and an effective manager who assisted CM Yogi in managing various aspects of the governance.

Swatantra Dev Singh is the BJP President for Uttar Pradesh, and he is a renowned OBC (Other Backward Classes) leader. In 2017, We saw how the Modi wave dashed all the caste equations and attain an unprecedented mandate. Uttar Pradesh is a state which is known for its complex caste division, and political parties used to create their dedicated vote banks on the basis of castes. The BJP broke this myth in 2017 and then in 2019 a well, and a big credit for the same must go to Swatantra Dev Singh.

Swatantra Dev Singh – A performer beyond excellence

Swatantra Dev Singh was doing massive roadshows and rallies, especially in the backward areas. He is known for his unprecedented abilities to enhance ‘voter interaction’, and improve ‘booth management’. He conceived the term ‘Tridev’, i.e., an amalgamation of Booth president, BLA2 (booth level agents), and booth in-charge.

He literally transformed the way election management used to be conducted to the lower level. He not only strengthened the coordination between the government and the party, but he also helped in resolving many crisis situations in the state.

He burst the myth of ‘Caste Equations’ by Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas

The media often talks a lot about the Kurmi caste, which is around 12% of the population and the 2nd largest OBC population of the state after the Yadav community will. It is an important section of society that can influence voting arithmetic. However, the media seldom talks about Swatantra Dev Singh, who is himself a Kurmi, probably due to his untarnished image and no-nonsense attitude.

While the position parties were making efforts to lure various castes recently, it was BJP under the capable leadership of Swatantra Dev Singh, which indeed started approaching OBCs and other lower castes in August 2021. It was Singh who prepared a strong roadmap of aligning OBCs with BJP, he hold OBC specific conferences in all the 75 districts, and you are going to see his hard work in the final result on 10th March.

In 2019, he was given the command of the state, and since then he has been working on the pious formula of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas‘ in the government as well as in the party organization. He was the one who said that the hijab row won’t enter Uttar Pradesh as the government has treated everyone equally. He is a close confidant of CM Yogi Adityanath, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

It is also worth remembering that in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, when Amit Shah was in charge of the election campaign in Uttar Pradesh, it was Swatantra Dev Singh, who was managing PM Modi’s extensive rallies from behind the scenes. Even when he worked as a Transport & Protocol and Minister of State for Power, he impressed the party leadership with his excellent performance.

Swatantra Dev Singh comes from an RSS background, but his family has no political history. Born on February 13, 1964, Swatantra Dev got married in Jhansi. He is an astute leader, who always learns from his mistakes and then works harder to achieve his objectives. He once lost the student union election at DAV degree college in Urai in 1986 but since then he never looked back.

He joined the ABVP and later worked as a state president of Yuva Morcha in 2001. During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he was appointed as in-charge of Madhya Pradesh and his performance was stellar as BJP won 28 out of 29 seats in the state.

Swatantra Dev Singh hails from Mirzapur but his in karmabhoomi has been Bundelkhand, which is amongst the most backward areas of UP. He is known for his nack to understand the problems and issues of the poor, and then offer them effective solutions using the State and Center’s public welfare schemes.

The 2022’s UP assembly elections were considered as a semi-final of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, and lot many things were at stake for all the parties. Amid such a situation, now BJP’s victory is almost certain. The way Singh has handled the caste equations managed the election campaigns, connected with the poor and Dalits, we have no hesitation in saying that he will be remembered for his massive contribution in this win along with the CM Yogi and PM Modi.
