Are you surprised by Bollywood actors and cricketers’ deafening silence on laying the foundation stone of the Ram Temple on 5 August? Does Secularism mean defaming Sanatan Dharma and denigrating Hindus? Perhaps this is what Bollywood actors and cricketers are implying.
Hindus across the globe celebrated and congratulated Bhoomi Pujan or laying the foundation stone of the Ram Temple on 5th August in the holy city of Ayodhya by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as if it was Diwali for them. Festivity was in the air with Hindus all over the world chanting prayers and lighting Diyas. Hindu in New York witnessed the largest high-definition digital display of God Ram on Broadway, which is said to be one of the most expensive digital billboards at Times Square. The display continued from 10am to 10pm to celebrate the laying of the Ram temple’s foundation on 5 August. Hindus in United Kingdom held prayers and Kirtan in several temples there to celebrate the occasion of laying foundation. Such high energy is quite natural, as Bharatvarsh corrected a historical injustices on its civilisation to reclaim its glory after 492 years of tears, blood, perseverance, unflinching struggle and supreme sacrifices.
But, why are Bollywood and cricket fraternity silent at such momentous occasion for Hindus, who had been brutalised by Islamic attackers and demonic Britishers since centuries? Why are Bollywood and cricket world enveloped into darkness, when Hindus across the globe are celebrating Diwali? Are they sad and mourning?

Barring a few like Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Varun Dhavan, no Khan and Kapoor welcomed and celebrated Bhoomi Pujan of Ram Temple. Even Amitabh Bachchan, who takes no time to express his opinion on social media, didn’t even mention laying of foundation stone of Ram Temple.
This is the Bollywood, who stands by convict Sanjay Dutt, who was sentenced to five- year imprisonment by the Supreme Court for illegal weapons possession in a case linked to the 1993 serial blasts that killed 257 people in Mumbai. This is the Bollywood who stands by convict Salman Khan, who had also been sentenced to five years in prison by a Jodhpur court for inhumanly killing endangered species blackbuck in 1998. Bollywood supports Salman Khan knowing fully well of his ‘hit and run case’ by his white Toyota Land Cruise at Bandra, Mumbai, which killed one and injured four in 2002.
Kareena Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor blatantly humiliated India and Hindus when they held placard of being ashamed of Hindustani in Kathua case in 2018. Anushka Sharma, who never leaves any opportunity to bash Hindus at Hindu festivals, but takes extra pride to celebrate Eid ul Adha, suddenly got too shocked that she turned silent on Bhoomi Pujan. Bollywood hardly raised their voices against music composer Nadeem Saifi, wanted in connection music baron Gulshan Kumar’s murder in 1997.
Toeing the line of Bollywood actors, even Cricketers shied away from participating in the celebration of laying stone of Ram Temple. Barring Cricketer like Shikhar Dhavan, Harbhajan Singh and Virendra Sehwag, who celebrated and hailed Bhoomi Pujan at Ayodhya, Virat Kohli and other cricketers went into silent mode.
Be it Bollywood or be it cricket fraternity, do they have moral authority to teach secularism, when they submit themselves to appease so called minority, actually the second largest population in India insulting Sanatan Dharma and humiliating Hindus? Don’t they deserve complete boycott?
