In a startling incident, a Muslim girl raised offensive and anti-India slogans during the Durga puja celebration that was taking place in the Basti area of Uttar Pradesh. The teenager stormed into the gathering on Monday, October 23, throwing black fabric on Maa Durga’s idol and shouting praises for Pakistan and Islam.

The girl got on the stage and snatched the mic from the person who was singing praises of Maa Durga and yelled, “Islam Zindabad, Pakistan Zindabad.” The police booked the girl on Tuesday, 24th October for hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus and investigating the matter further.

According to accounts, the incident allegedly took place on Monday, October 23, at the ‘Jagran’ festival, which was held in the Chowri Bazar neighborhood. The other Hindu participants were infuriated by the anti-Indian chanting and reported the incident to the police right away; however, the police initially appeared to overlook the occurrence.

“A Muslim girl entered the room and yelled out religious anthems. The villagers claim that the police officers who were on duty acted negligently. We’ll investigate them and take appropriate action. Legal action will be taken against individuals who have attempted to disturb the peace; a case has been filed,” Dy SP was cited as saying.
