China for decades have been systematically & strategically usurping India’s territory in the Akasi Chin region and the Arunachal Pradesh region for decades. And in the recent attempt on 9th December 2022 the Chinese troops attempted to change the status quo in the Tawang Sector of Arunachal Pradesh. The attack led to skirmishes and resulted in higher causalities on the Chinese side. The Indian forces response left the Chinese PLA army baffled and PLA quietly disengaged after suffering massive causalities in which 22 of their personal were injured. According to reports, 500 Chinese troopers attempted to take post and the attack was immediately repulsed. Tensions in the area remain high and is stated to be under control.
The situation is nothing new and in October of 2021 around 200 Chinese soldiers crossed the Tawang sector and tried to damage the unoccupied bunkers. The earlier attempt to change the status quo in June 2020 at the high altitude of Galwan Valley resulted in higher losses for the infiltrating Chinese forces. According to estimate by Russian Intelligence around 43 soldiers died in response to 20 Indian causalities. The Chinese objected the construction of road north of Pangong Tso. After the Post Galwan clashes, the Central Government has sanctioned 32 new roads along the Chinese border.
The fresh skirmishes across the border is due to massive Infrastructure push planned in Arunachal Pradesh by the Modi Government. The planned 2000 Kms road along the border that run parallel to the McMahan Line and the construction of three national highways the Frontier Highway, the Trans-Arunachal Highway, and the East-West Industrial Corridor Highway will enable to mobilize and deploy troops at the border immediately in case of future provocations by the Chinese. The Highways are to be linked by six vertical and diagonal inter highway connectivity as to provide faster access to border areas. In response to Chinese ramping up rail infrastructure near the Arunachal border the Indian government will build railway lines from Bhalukpong to Tawang along the China border and from Silapathar to Along via Bame with the possibility of expanding the line to neighboring Bhutan.
China has contested the region of Arunachal Pradesh and has issued statements of protest for any visit of Indian leader to the state. The Dragon claims Arunachal Pradesh as part of southern Tibet. The fresh skirmishes across the border seems to be planned attempt by the Chinese dictator Xi Jingping to divert attention from the Zero Covid policy protest across China which led to call of removal of Xi. And the border flare up seems to well planned strategy to stem the flow of Industries from China to India to create additional supply chain by western companies.
With India gaining presidency of G20 several inter governmental meetings are likely to be held in Arunachal Pradesh capital Itanagar as well. And with the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections coming and planned introduction of Uniform Civil Code in Parliament, the possibility of planned mobilization and violence to create internal unrest and chaos is not ruled out by the Urban Naxals who are being discreetly funded by China and Pakistan. Similar tensions erupted when President Donald Trump visited India in February 2020. The above factors point out that incursion in Tawang is just beginning of the planned attempt of Globalist to dethrone the patriotic and nationalist government of Narendra Modi ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha Elections. The rise of protest against Sheikh Hasina government in Bangladesh and uncooperative leadership of Mamta Banerjee in West Bengal will add to the challenges faced by the Modi Government against Internal and External enemies alike.
