Saif Seas : A company that only works with the muslim community

Date:

Share post:

Saif seas is a company that builds and creates robotics and automation in marine space. It has its office in Kolkata and Vishakhapatnam.

AHMED SHAIKH ABDEALLY is the founder of this company whereas TAHER CALCUTTAWALA and ALIASGAR CALCUTTAWALA are the co-founders. Vizag-based Saif Automation, currently incubated in Andhra Pradesh Innovation Society caught attention when it developed a prototype of a drone that can be deployed in an emergency arising at sea or in water bodies. The company aims to help in reducing incidents of drowning at least in places where the drone is deployed.

But the most controversial part of the company is its team and management. Every member of the company belongs to the Muslim community only. From embedded engineers (ABDUL MUQTADIR) to HR (ZAINAB CALCUTTAWALA), everyone is a Muslim. Even the interns hired are from the same community. What is not comprehensible is why such a detrimental attitude is rooted in the company when its aims and visions mention “build cutting edge products that solve today’s problems that are globally competent and locally relevant” on its website.

It is disappointing to see such an absurd and narrow approach by a company in India especially when the country beholds the essence of Unity in Diversity.

Aliasgar who is one of the co-founders initially worked for Bharat Electronics Limited from 2001-2004 in its telecom and broadcast, strategic business unit (SBU). Saif Seas has also been working with defense agencies like the Indian Coast Guard and the Indian Navy. The National Research Development Corporation is sponsoring our patent application. With so much appreciation and Opportunities provided to the company, it still chose to prefer only Muslim staff and team members. The idealogy is so dangerous for the nation and the society because it is against the ideals of our constitution which promote fraternity, equality, and inclusivity.

Whereas the nation under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is committed to the ideals of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayaas” to build an Aatmanirbhar Bharat such corporations not only affect the sustainable progress but also the morality of the society at large. When the government and the nations entrust you with so many responsibilities and grant recognition for the work, its people are indebted to respect and value the essence of the nation. Such adverse hiring and exclusion of other communities are disgraceful.
