Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on July 28 inaugurated and laid foundation stone of multiple massive projects expecting to be worth more than Rs. 1000 crore at Sabar Dairy at Gadhoda Chowki, Sabarkantha, Gujarat.
The projects is launched with the objective to empower local farmers and milk producers and increase their income in a substantial rate. And thus, to increase the economic lubricant in rural region.
Prime Minister also felicitated beneficiaries of Sukanya Samriddhi Scheme and top women milk producers. And the dignitaries like Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel also graced the event.
Projects inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister:
Inauguration of the Power Plant at Sabar Dairy with the capacity of 1200 metric tonnes a day and the cost of the projects valued at 300 crores. The plant already satisfies the global food safety standards. And also highly efficient with almost zero emission.
Asceptic Milk Packeging Plant at Sabar Dairy with the capacity of 3 lakh litre a day. And involves an investment of Rs. 125 crores. Latest automation system with highly energy efficient system has been used.
The foundation stone of the Sabar Cheese and Whey Drying Plant Project laid down by Prime Minister with an estimated investment of Rs. 600 crores. The plant is launched to manufacture Cheddar Cheese, Mozzarella Cheese and processed cheese. And also the Whey generated from separation of cheese will also be sent to the plant to dry which will apparently facilitate the Indian protein manufacturers to purchase raw whey at reduced costs.
Prime Minister addresses:
Prime Minister said, that “today sabar dairy has expanded. And welcoming the hundreds of projects worth hundreds of crore are being set up here. The capacity of Sabar Dairy will increase further with the addition of milk powder plant with advance technology and one more line in the aseptic packing section. Prime Minister also mentioned Shri Bhurabhai Patel, one of the founder personalities of Sabar Dairy. While addressing, also recalled the hearty and long association with the area of local people.
Prime Minister recalled the unignorable drought of late 90s. And recalled the possible steps he took to enlist the cooperation of people to curb the situation in his tenure as Chief Minister. Prime Minister emphasized on the use of Ayurveda to cure ailment of cattle since animal husbandry plays a significant role and mentioned Gujarat Jyotigram Scheme to be proven as catalyst of development.
Hon’ble Prime Minister praised the steps taken in the past decade that helped Gujarat to stand at 1 lakh crore rupees dairy market. PM appealed women to increase their participation in 2007 and 2011. As a result, now most of the committees have good representation of women.
Prime Minister pointed out the need of the hour to have an alternative income to be promoted in entire India since the example is first set out by Gujarat farmers. From horticulture, fishery honey production to Khadi, the turnover reached one lakh crore collectively. And alone sector is responsible to create 1.5 crore new jobs in villages.
