In Bengaluru, on Tuesday, February 27th, police initiated a suo motu First Information Report (FIR) against an ‘unidentified’ individual for shouting “Pakistan zindabad” within the corridors of Vidhana Soudha. The decision to file the FIR stemmed from reports circulating on electronic media platforms.
Subsequently, BJP MLC N Ravikumar and opposition chief whip MLA Doddanagowda Patil lodged a complaint with Vidhana Soudha police, alleging that Congress MP Syed Nasir Hussain’s supporters were responsible for the incendiary chant. This accusation came after Hussain’s victory in Tuesday’s Rajya Sabha polls, where he was declared the winner.
Videos of the celebrations with Hussain’s supporters cheering for him went viral on the internet, and allegations also surfaced that the “Pakistan zindabad” slogan was heard.
The row started when Congress’ Hussain was declared the winner in the Rajya Sabha polls. In the videos telecast on local media channels, the supporters of Hussain were seen shouting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ with loud claps. However, Hussain immediately clarified that some supporters shouted slogans like ‘Nasir Hussain Zindabad’, ‘Nasir Sahab Zindabad, ‘ ‘Congress Party Zindabad, ’ and not ‘Pakistan Zindabad.’

However, the Congress refuted the claims and said the BJP was only trying to spread misinformation to create chaos. Chief minister Siddaramaiah said the videos telecasted by the local media channels are sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and they are waiting for the report. “If the FSL report confirms that ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans are uttered in the video, there is no way that we are going to spare the culprits. But even before the report is out, the BJP is only trying to create communal tensions once again.”
In the Legislative Assembly, Leader of the Opposition R. Ashok raised the issue and said that the government has been “shielding the accused” involved in the alleged incident and none had been arrested or inquiry initiated.
The dubious Islamist ‘fact-checker’ Mohammed Zubair, who is known for supporting radical Islamists, Pakistan, and every possible elements, who are acting against the interests of India, took to X to refute the allegation.
In one of the several posts Zubair posted on the matter, he shared screenshots of various media reports that reported the matter and wrote, “Kannada News Channels are propagating the lie of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans being heard. The supporters of @NasirHussainINC said ‘Nasir Saab Zindabad’. The lies by the News channels is picked up by BJP leaders like @ShobhaBJP @RAshokaBJP @BYVijayendra in Karnataka. Even the reporters present there have denied pro-Pakistan slogans were raised.”
Members of the Congress Ecosystem also endorsed this narrative questioning the party’s allegiance. The politicians and media people shared Zubair’s posts and supported his narrative. He further stated claims of communal discrimination, which deviate from the truth, yet the unwavering allegiance of Congress once again revealed its imprudence.

While speaking to the reporters, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said Congress always remembers Pakistan whenever India’s democracy wins.
“This is a very worrying incident, this is the insult of India’s democracy. Today, every citizen is asking, why Congress always remembers Pakistan whenever India’s democracy wins…Pakistan is there in the DNA of Congress…Congress’ DNA has become anti-national…Don’t you think Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge should apologise?” he said.
Meanwhile, the BJP’s Karnataka unit held a massive protest in Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru against the Congress for being “anti-national”. Karakala Sunil, the BJP MLA from Karakala, led the protest by holding a national flag and demanding the Congress to remove Hussain from the party. It has also filed a complaint against Hussian at the Vidhana Soudha Police Station.
Forensic Science Laboratory confirms that Pakistan Zindabad slogan was raised
Amidst demands of dismissal of the Congress government in Karnataka, news of reports of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) have sent Congress on backfoot.
According to local news reports by Kannada media, FSL did not find any tweaking in the celebratory video of Congress Member of Parliament Syed Nasser Hussain.
Karnataka Police arrested the accused Congress supporter
The Karnataka police on Thursday, February 29, arrested Mohmad Shafi Nashipudi in connection with the case of raising pro-Pakistani slogans in the Vidhana Soudha, following the victory of Congress candidate Syed Naseer Hussain. Mohmad Shafi is reportedly a trader and supporter of the Congress MP and was present in the Vidhana Soudha with Syed Nasser Hussain, the political secretary of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, in the celebration after the Rajya Sabha election victory.
As per the Byadagi police, Mohmad Shafi Nashipudi has been detained and the Police collected his voice sample and took him to analyse the voice in the alleged pro-Pakistan slogan video. He was present in Vidhana Soudha with Syed Nasser Hussain in the celebration after the Rajya Sabha election victory.
Meanwhile, the BJP is also getting ready to meet Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot on Thursday and submit a petition to him seeking dismissal of the Congress government. After the Assembly was adjourned for the day, Leader of the Opposition R. Ashok told media persons that the BJP would continue its protest against the government till the person who shouted the slogan was arrested.
