A massive blast rocked a Gaza City hospital packed with wounded and other Palestinians seeking shelter Tuesday, killing hundreds of people, the Hamas-run Health Ministry said. Hamas blamed an Israeli airstrike, while the Israeli military blamed a rocket misfired by other Palestinian militants.
Gaza’s health ministry spokesman said an Israeli air strike on Tuesday killed hundreds of people at a hospital in the Palestinian enclave, but Israel said a Palestinian barrage had caused the blast.
The death toll was by far the highest of any single incident in Gaza during the current violence, triggering protests in the occupied West Bank, Istanbul and Amman.
The Palestinian Authority’s health minister, Mai Alkaila, accused Israel of “a massacre” at Al-Ahli al-Arabi Hospital. The strike killed hundreds of people and occurred during Israel’s intense 11-day bombing campaign in Gaza.
As expected, a massive rage spread through the Middle East region because of the hospital blast, and with President Joe Biden heading to the Mideast in hopes of stopping the war from spreading, Jordan’s foreign minister said his country canceled a regional summit scheduled for Wednesday in Amman, where Biden was to meet with Jordan’s King Abdullah II, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi.
Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates were among countries to condemn the attack and blame Israel for it.
While Islamic Nations Blame Israel, it exposes an Evil Act of Hamas
Hamas and Israel traded accusations after a blast ripped through a hospital in war-torn Gaza killing over 500 people. While Hamas claims that the blast was caused by an Israeli rocket, the Benjamin Netanyahu government maintained that they had no role in the attack. The Israeli military blamed Palestinian militants, saying that the an outgoing Islamic Jihad rocket misfired.
To back their claims, Israel released a series of videos of the explosion, one of which showed the hospital and its surroundings before and after being hit by the rocket.
“A failed rocket launch by the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization hit the Al Ahli hospital in Gaza City. IAF footage from the area around the hospital before and after the failed rocket launch by the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization,” IDF said while sharing the video on X.
The video shows that while the building caught fire after the rocket landed in the hospital parking lot. The Israel military claimed that their weapons, especially their rockets, were high-impact and create craters at the site they hit.
They said that there are no visible craters near the hospital and even the building doesn’t seem to have encountered significant damage.
Asked to explain the size of the explosion at the site, chief Israeli military spokesperson Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari said it was consistent with unspent rocket fuel catching fire. “Most of this damage would have been done due to the propellant, not just the warhead,” he said.
Hagari also accused Hamas of inflating the number of casualties from the explosion and said it could not know as quickly as it claimed what had caused the blast.
Israeli Army shares intercepted call between Hamas Terrorists
Intercepted phone call between Hamas terrorists saying the explosion at the hospital parking lot was caused by a misfired PIJ rocket.
This clearly explains who must have orchestrated this deadly attack on Gaza hospital.
Biden supports Israel’s stand
US president Joe Biden told Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the hospital strike on Gaza seems to have been ‘done by other team’, in reference to Palestinian militants. He said he was “sad and outraged” by an explosion at a hospital in the Gaza Strip which Hamas said killed hundreds of people.
“Based on what I’ve seen, it appears as though it was done by the other team, not you,” Joe Biden told Benjamin Netanyahu during a meeting. But he said there were “a lot of people out there” who weren’t sure what caused the blast.
