Punjab’s Congress government has been patronising gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari to help him evade appearance in courts in Uttar Pradesh where he is facing murder charges.
Punjab jail authorities refused to hand him over to the UP Police on the pretext of health issues, the Amarinder Singh government is soaking its hands in blood and violating the guidelines of the Supreme Court, which asks states to finish the trials on Politicians on fast track basis. Ansari is an accused in the murder of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai in 2005 and several other criminal charges have been slapped on him.
Uttar Pradesh government, accused the Congress-led Punjab government of shielding and protecting a “terrorist and a gangster”. The UP administration has submitted that serious charges are pending against Ansari in the state and he has been remanded in Punjab for only two years in a “minor case”.
Uttar Pradesh’s counsel said that the gangster-turned-politician should be transferred as a charge-sheet has been filed in UP. No charge sheet has been registered in Punjab. He has been facing serious charges where summons was issued. He got an FIR filed in Punjab and did not even file for bail there and is enjoying in Punjab.
Sometimes people think that why Congress wants to save this notorious criminal. Mukhtar Ansari is a nephew of Hamid Ansari, the EX Vice President of India. Congress wants to consolidate the Muslims votes and that’s why showing leniency towards Muslim criminal Ansari.
Ansari in his affidavit submitted that he should not be transferred to Uttar Pradesh’s Ghazipur jail from Ropar jail in Punjab, as he hails from a family, whose members had taken part in India’s freedom struggle and also served on top constitutional posts after country’s Independence.
He said that his family made an immense contribution to the Indian freedom movement and has given India many leaders in the form of Shri Muhammad Hamid Ansari who was the vice president of India, Shri Baba Shaukatullah Ansari who was Governor Of Odisha, Hon’ble Justice Asif Ansari who was a judge of Allahabad High Court.
However, this is a shameless logic by Ansari. It doesn’t matter who he is and which family he belongs to, he is a criminal who is accused of several murders and other heinous crimes, and he will be tried by our law accordingly. Congress can help him for sometime, but not till eternity.
