On July 18 of last year, the divisive pastor insulted Bharat Mata by saying that, she may spread scabies and is filthy. He made fun of BJP candidate MR Gandhi during his public speech in the Tamil Nadu district of Kanyakumari for not wearing shoes out of reverence for Mother Earth (Bhumadevi/Bharat Mata).

Rahul Gandhi, a Congress scion, met George Ponnaiah on Friday, September 9, as part of his ambitious “Bharat Jodo Yatra” popular mobilisation campaign.

Rahul Gandhi was seen in a now-viral video on social media learning about Jesus Christ from the pastor. But He’s not God, is He? Is he God, then? Is Jesus also God?

A man could be heard in the background elaborating on the relationship between Jesus Christ and God utilising the various states of water. It is similar to water, which exists in three different states: solid, liquid, and gaseous.

He continued by describing how Jesus Christ is both God and God’s son. Rahul Gandhi asked, “So Jesus Christ is a type of God?”

Father George Ponnaiah then stepped in and asserted that Jesus is the “true God,” as opposed to Shakti and other Hindu gods. He (Jesus Christ) is a real God, revealed as a human being, the fervent anti-Hindu claimed. Not at all like Shakti.”

Rahul Gandhi, who normally identifies as a janeu dhari Brahmin, watched in silence as the Christian preacher implied that Hindu deities are made up and fake.

Ironically, the Gandhi family chose to see a man who made vile words about Bharat Mata and the Hindu civilization as the Congress party is making a desperate attempt to change its political fortunes with the “Bharat Jodo Yatra.”

Father George Ponnaiah’s rant against Hindus

On July 18 of last year, the divisive pastor insulted Bharat Mata by saying that She may spread scabies and is filthy. He made fun of BJP candidate MR Gandhi during his public speech in the Tamil Nadu district of Kanyakumari for not wearing shoes out of reverence for Mother Earth (Bhumadevi/Bharat Mata).

But we have shoes on. Why? Because Bharat Mata’s impurities shouldn’t pollute us. We received complimentary shoes from the Tamil Nadu government. He said, “You could get scabies from this bhuma devi; it’s harmful.

In addition, Father George Ponnaiah threatened the Hindu community under the guise of the State’s shifting demographics. “We now have a 62 percent majority (in the Kanyakumari district), up from 42% previously. We will soon reach 70%. We can not be stopped. I’m warning my Hindu brethren by stating this.

Approximately 330 representatives of different Hindu organisations filed complaints with the police in various regions of the state as a result of his vituperative remarks.

Fr. George Ponnaiah was arrested on July 21, 2021, for violating Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 153A (promote animosity between religious groups), 295A (insult religious beliefs), 505-2 (promote animosity between classes), and 506-1. (criminal intimidation).

On July 24 of that year, the Kanyakumari police ultimately had him detained for his hate speech. Additionally, the Madras High Court declined to overturn the FIR filed against the Catholic priest for using derogatory language toward Bharat Mata and Hindus.

“The petitioner mocked people who go barefoot as a show of respect for Mother Earth. He said that Christians should wear shoes so they won’t come into contact with germs and pollution. Nothing could be more obscene in the eyes of the Hindu believers, the court said.
