On august 8, a new story surfaced in which a nonagenarian man from Punjab reunites with his nephew from Pakistan who were separated during 1947 partition. Both lost many relatives back then in partition riots.

Jalandhar man Sarvan Singh met his brother’s son Mohan Singh at the historic Gurdwara, Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan, the final resting place of Sikhism’s founder Guru Nanak Dev.

The credit goes to two youtubers whose primary concern is to channel the voice of separation from a nation to the other. Many stories have met their fate through these youtubers. Similarly, a youtuber from Jandiala town in the Amritsar district had documented several partition stories, and a few months back met Sarwan Singh. Immediately shared the story on his Youtube channel.

The other Pakistan based youtuber narrate the story of Mohan Singh, who also separated from his family in partition. The video fortunately caught attention of a sikh man based in Australia who later helped them to connect.

The video had details of the identity descriptions and somehow relatable in both cases since the details shared from both sides were verifiable.

Sarwan singh’s family lost 22 members in partition riots. Sarwan and other family members managed to cross border from their village, Chak. Mohan who escaped the violence, was later raised by a muslim family in Pakistan and had given new identity.
