The drama seems to be unstoppable which began on July 22 as Enforcement Directorate initiates to act on a probe into multi-crore West Bengal School Service Commission. While following irregularities in scam, many raids have been conducted successfully at residence of Ministers including former West Bengal Education minister and Congress secretary-general Parth Chaterjee.
As the raid continued, ED got the information of close aide Arpita Mukherjee and as they ran search operations, an amount of Rs. 20 crore in cash and documents supporting the claim have been apprehended.
As a result, both Parth Chaterjee and Arpita Mukherjee were taken into custody.
In comparison to what have recovered earlier, this time it is Rs. 28 crore and ED suspects to recover more.
The dramatic turn in the scam has given rise to many scam made in the name of developing educational domain. ED claims that sale deeds of many flats and 20 expensive I phones along with cash and gold have been raided so far. However, the agency pointed out a mysterious diary which is yet to decode and added, that many conversations in a code language seem to be communicated through those diaries.
ED also said that results of handwriting confirmations results into the suspicion on third person’s involvement. Also, while interrogation a new name was given by Arpita Mukherjee who is said to have been a close associate to Parth Chatterjee.
Reports suggests that, whereas Parth Chaterjee owns almost assets worth 100 crore and Arpita Mukherji has three bogus companies by her name.
