Hindu temples are under attack with impunity. Hindus are being brutalised in Andhra Pradesh. More than 120 attacks were carried out on Hindu temples and their properties in a systematic manner in Andhra Pradesh in last 19 months ever since Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy took over as the second Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on 30 May 2019 post its bifurcation.
Ancient chariots of deities were burnt. Idols were desecrated and beheaded. In one outrageous incident, two old Hindu temples in Suryaraopeta, Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh were destroyed by Church authorities using a JCB machine looting the antique idols of presiding deities. According to villagers the culprit was Church Pastor Prabhudas and three others, who had been converting Hindus under the banner of “Christu Sangam” for the last five years.
Is Andhra Pradesh living under St. Francis Xavier era, when Franciscan missionaries demolished more than 300 Hindu temples in Bardez, today’s North Goa, and equal numbers of Hindu temples were destroyed in Salcete, today’s South Goa in 16th century? Next, St. Francis Xavier ordered bloodiest massacre of Hindus to establish Christianity in Goa.
Freedom is not given, but it is snatched after winning battles and wars. India grabbed its independence on 15 August 1947 after fighting for its freedom for many decades of struggle and battle from British Raj.
Is India free from Church and Christian domination established during British Raj? Is India free from persecution of Churches and its followers? The most disturbing question: Isn’t it Church-State Nexus government in Andhra Pradesh?
Andhra CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is a devout Christian, has opened the state treasury of tax payers money to the Christian community.
- Andhra CM increased the financial assistance from Rs 40,000 to Rs 60,000 given to Christian pilgrims going to Jerusalem, for those with an annual income up to Rs 3 lakh.
- Jagan’s government announced to provide remuneration of Rs 5,000 per month to pastors.
- Jagan Mohan government is also said to be working to launch housing schemes and financial assistance for the Christian community, who falls under poorer sections.
There are unaccounted freebies, actually taxpayers money, doled out to Christian community with a goal to convert underprivileged Andhra citizens.
What is to be highlighted is that Jagan’s brother-in-law Anil Kumar is a powerful evangelist with his own ministries. Anil Kumar, born to Hindu Brahmin parents, converted to Christianity after his love marriage to Sharmila, Jagan’s sister in 1995.
On 2 January, opposition leader and Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu called Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy a Hindu betrayer, who is trying to convert Hindus to Christianity. While visiting Ramateertham, where God Ram’s idol was beheaded on 28 December, Naidu said, “I am not bothered that he is a Christian. But, he is certainly trying to promote religious conversion misusing his official position.
Article 25(1) of Indian Constitution says, “All citizens including Indian citizens are equally entitled to practice and propagate their religion freely without evangelising or converting. But, Andhra Pradesh government is blatantly promoting conversion by opening state treasury to only Christian community, by allowing attacks after attacks on Hindu temples. How is it possible that Andhra Pradesh Police didn’t nab any culprit yet?
One small incident of theft in a Church in Delhi had made India intolerant. India and Hindus were defamed, disgraced and maligned on every national and international platform. More than 120 attacks have been committed on Hindu temples in last 19 months after Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy became Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. Up to what extent, Hindus would continue to be brutalised and humiliated at their own land? Up to how long Hindus would endure wounds on their civilisations? Weren’t Islamic Invasion and British subjugation, which inflicted deep wounds to ancient faith and culture of the land, enough? What if wounded and outraged Hindus react? Self proclaimed left liberals would take no time to brand Hindus as intolerant.
