India has successfully achieved the benchmark of providing 200 crore vaccine doses. Day to remember forever, says Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. Prime minister Narendra Modi lauded the nation and scientists who made this an achievable milestone.

The process has just became faster when the government made precaution doses free to all adults for 75 days from July 15 to celebrate 75 years of India’s independence, and this levied pressure to more numbers of vaccinations.

The drive to achieve the milestone began almost one-and-a-half years back in January 2021. The first 100 crore mark was being reached on October 21 last year within nine months of commencement of vaccination drive.

“17th july 2022, a day to remember forever, #200crorevaccinations,” Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya tweeted with a broadcast of the coWIN portal dashboard showing the number of doses crossing 200 crore mark.

On Saturday, the country administered 1.3 lakh doses to achieve the 200-crore benchmark until the Sunday morning.

“India creates history again! Congrats to all Indians on crossing the special figure of 200 crore vaccine doses. Proud of those who contributed to making India’s vaccination drive unparalleled in scale and speed. This has strengthened the global fight against Covid-19.” Says Narendra Modi in a series of tweet.

Amidst allegation and farce anticipation of opposite party leaders, the benchmark has been achieved. While few supported the drive, others who were involved in questioning the efficacy to slow down the process of vaccination are seem to be surprised by this.

Samajwadi party leader Akhilesh Yadav claimed to not having any trust in the vaccines since the vaccines are BJP’s vaccine. Also, print media’s engineered the claims that the vaccine doesn’t display any efficacious certification and created hesitancy amongst many.

However, the ruling government ran virtual as well as on-ground campaign to undo the claims that led the hesitancy in public domain.

During second wave also, the propaganda to have less number of people administer, the political driven puppets were hitting in spite.

To set the record straight, many came forward to substantiate the false claims thrown by parties since the risk was solely upon the public. Many researches have had made public by the government to restore the belief in vaccine.

From 2020 to July 2022, the ride has been an absolute rollercoaster but again the proven governance and nation’s faith have made it successful to achieve the humongous goal of 200-crore vaccination.
