BREAKING NEWS NIA arrests ISIS operative working as Ophthalmologist in Bengaluru

A Bangalore based ophthalmologist named Abdur Rahman has been arrested by NIA over charges of making apps for injured ISIS operatives. The 28-year-old had even visited a camp managed by the islamic state terror group in Syria back in 2014. According to NIA sources, Rahman had reportedly stayed and trained in the camp for 10 days before heading back to India in 2014.

Rahman, who’s currently working at Bengaluru’s MS Ramaiah Medical College was initially held in connection with the agency’s probe against a Kashmiri Couple for allegedly having contact with terrorists.

Rahman was developing a medico software application for aiding injured terrorist in conflict zones. His application also held methodologies to aid terrorists to treat themselves when injured with mechanically advanced and chemical weaponry.

NIA had earlier arrested Rahman, a resident of Bangalore’s Basavanagudi in connection of alleged Islamic State of Khorasan Province (an affiliate of ISIS) operatives Jahanzaib Wani and his wife Hina Bashir Beigh from Delhi’s Jamia Nagar in March.
