Bollywood is known for making films on half-baked stories or sometimes hide the truth to propagate their nefarious propaganda, especially against Hindus. We have seen how Bollywood people have promoted the evil Mughals and denigrated the others who were fighting for their dharma and sanctity. This biased and atrocious behavior of Bollywood is the reason why people have started boycotting them enmasse.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is known for glorifying the prostitution, and who has made a movie “Gangubai Kathiawadi”, which not only distorted the facts, but also glorified a woman with criminal background. He has again came with an OTT series to glorify the role of courtesans.
The idea to make Heeramandi, a story on the courtesans of Lahore’s Heeramandi area, was given to filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali nearly 14 years ago by writer Moin Baig. Heeramandi, which in Urdu means diamond market, is an area in the city of Lahore in Pakistan.
As per Bhansali, when he and Baig narrated the story to Netflix, “they were in a tizzy!” At last, Heeramandi deserved a series of 8-9 episodes to tell the world the story of Lahore’s tawaifs (courtesans) whose fortunes came crashing down under the British Raj and remains there today.
However, what Sanjay Leela Bhansali calls a “beautiful world of Heera Mandi”, have witnessed the painful tears of thousands of Hindu women during the Mughal rule and then under Ahmed Shah Abdali.
What is Heera Mandi?
Heera mandi, comes from the name of Heera Singh Dogra, who had set up a mandi or vegetable market in this place. It was earlier named as ‘Shahi Mohalla‘ when it was started by Mughals in Lahore, as a place for tawaifs or concubines.
This is where Hindu Kathak Dancers were brought and made to dance to entertain the Mughal rulers and their army commanders. There was an entire ecosystem, that used to bring innocent girls from all parts of the country and push them into this trade. That was the reason why most of the kathak dancers ended up in ‘Tawaif Kothas‘ during the Mughal era.
Thus Kathak that used to narrate the tales of Bhagwan Shri Krishna during Bhakti movement was reduced to a dance of Tawaifs to entertain the Mughal rulers. Mughals transformed these dancers into prostitutes and this noble profession into a painful sex slavery.
Then came the evil Ahmed Shah Abdali, who is notoriously infamous for capturing, enslaving and selling Kafir (read Hindu) Girls. He massacred many Hindu villages and turned the captured Hindu women into sex slaves and brought them to the so called Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “beautiful world of Heera Mandi. Heera Mandi turned to be the world of sex trafficking of helpless Hindu girls.
The world of Heera Mandi was far from being beautiful, was actually tainted with horror. It stood as a witness to thousands of Hindu women’s sagas of misery and humiliation. These women often were from noble families and elite classes.
A French author Claudine Le Tourneur d’Ison in her Book Hira Mandi, though mostly fiction, had described that girls were used to brought into these kothas as early as 11 year old, thus continuing the ρaedoρhilic culture.
A so called hindu Sanjay Leela Bhansali is glorifying the helplessness and miseries of some of our ancestors is indeed a shameless mockery and humiliation of every Hindu. Bhansali has this bad habit of sugar coating the cruel reality and calling it magnum opus to earn moolah. He did the same with Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Shame on Hindus like Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala and others, who are portraying such characters, without even understanding the truth about them.
Only blaming muslims is not a good thing because if you see the concept of Goli in Rajasthani culture or different names in other Hindu culture when women brings girls with her in marriage and they are only allowed to have husband but he is not even allowed to touch her. i am muslim and i am not saying twaif and all these stuff were not there but pointing out on the basis of religion is not an intelligent act one should perform.
