Bollywood has a habit of making provocative content, especially to demean Hinduism. Sunny Leone’s latest number “Madhuban mein Radhika naache” has created a massive row for ‘hurting Hindus religious sentiments’.

It is a remake of the classic song by Mohammed Rafi, the music video featuring Sunny doing ‘sensual’ and ‘vulgur’ moves has led to several raising objections to it.

After Mathura priests demanded an apology from the makers of the song, Madhya Pradesh Minister Narottam Mishra has also issued an ultimatum to the producers. The Minister has demanded that Leone and composer Saqib Toshi issue an apology, and the offensive dance number be taken down from Youtube within 3 days. Narottam Mishra has warned that if the video is not removed, legal action will be taken against the actor and the composer, which may also lead up to an FIR against the team.

“Some people continuously hurt Hindu sentiments. There are temples for Radha in India, we pray for her. Saqib Toshi can make songs concerning his religion, but such songs offend us. I will take legal advice and action will be taken against them (Toshi and Leone) if the video is not taken down in three days,” Mishra said.

Several priests from Mathura demanded an immediate ban on this song. While urging PM Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath to take action against Sunny Leone, the priests have stated that producers and directors of this album are also equally responsible and should apologize to the Hindu community. The song which lyrically narrates the love between Radha and Krishna has been turned into a party number by Saregama Music, Kanika Kapoor, and Arindam Chakraborty.

Bowing down to the pressure, the makers of the song, Sa Re Ga Ma has said that they will “change” the lyrics and the name of the song “Madhuban”. “In light of the recent feedback & respecting the sentiments of our fellow countrymen, we will be changing the lyrics & the name of the song Madhuban.

“The new song will replace the old one across all platforms over the next 3 days,” Saregama, which had released the aforementioned song on its YouTube channel on December 22, said in a brief statement.
