West Bengal has a long history of political violence and unrest. Be it Congress, Left, or Trinamool Congress, all these parties always resort to political violence to keep the power with them. The same history has been repeated in the ongoing election campaigning.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee gave a slogan ‘Khela Hobe’, which means the ‘Game is On’. It seems her party feels the Khela means to eliminate their opponents. Ahead of the assembly elections in West Bengal, a BJP Mandal President was found hanging in Dinhata, Cooch Behar district in West Bengal.

According to the reports, a BJP worker identified as Amit Sarkar, the Mandal President of the BJP unit in Dinhata, was found hanging just three days ahead of the first phase of the West Bengal assembly elections.

BJP workers are accusing TMC of this political killing and calling it a pre-planned murder. BJP accused that TMC wants their workers to just sit at home out of fear. BJP workers take a resolve to continue their fight against the threatening of TMC.

Meanwhile, BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya has claimed in his tweet that BJP has lost 130 workers of their Bengal cadre due to these ‘political killings’ in the state.

Elections to the 294-member West Bengal Assembly will be held in eight phases starting from March 27 with the final round of voting on April 29. The results will be declared on May 2. But it seems the political vendetta and violence are far from over.
