The recent investigation by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) at the Don Bosco School, managed by Christian missionaries in Davanagere, Karnataka, has brought to light concerning irregularities. During their inspection, the NCPCR team extended their inquiry to the children’s shelter home Open Centre. President of the organization, Priyank Kanungo, shared a troubling discovery in a tweet—a pamphlet listing various items, including beef, allegedly found in the kitchen during the inspection.

The leaflet contained item names, dates, and their corresponding prices. Notably, beef was among the items listed, leading to a significant controversy. Kanungo highlighted this discovery, indicating that suspicious meat was found during the inspection. Dr. Divya Gupta, a team member and gynecologist, reportedly discovered the bill for beef in the garbage. This finding has raised significant concerns, especially as there is a considerable population of Hindu children in the home.

The most alarming aspect of the investigation is the alleged imposition of Christian religious practices on all children in the shelter, despite their diverse religious backgrounds. The discovery of beef being cooked in a home with a substantial number of Hindu children has added fuel to the controversy.
